Many high-end car dealers (like Porsche, Ferrari and etc.) and domestic (Ford, GM and others) uses the on-car brake lathe. Toyota Motor Corporation Engineers strongly recommends that on-car brake lathe be used for repairing brake vibration and pulsation problems on all models since February of 1994. This method improves rotor and hub combined runout, and is the preferred method when compared to rotor replacement and off–the–car rotor machining. 

Drilled discs can also be machined with Pro-Cut, however it is suggested to machine one side of the disc at a time, then lightly sand with 300 grit for approximately 2 minutes and then wash off with brake cleaner. With the on-car brake lathe, you'll get fewer customer complaints about brake squeaks, noises and vibrations.
