THE RED MONKEY

by Jacob Grapentine - age 10

I wish I was a red monkey.
I'd sit up in a banana tree
and eat and eat and eat
bananas.
Whoosh! I jump from branch
to branch.
It is as hot as a sauna.
I swim every day.

A Poem

by Ellen Stromgren - age 6
(with a little help from Mommy)

We have a cricket living in our house.
He's smaller than a mouse.
When we turn out the light
He thinks it's night.
When he rubs his wings
He sings.
When I hear him sing
I pretend I have wings.
