You are invited to Expert Night! A family event sponsored by Norhtland C.O.R.E. March 1, 2002, 7-8pm Bethany Baptist Church, 6700 Grand Ave., Duluth
Experts' Night is an opportunity for students to put together a display on any chosen topic, including a written report and a hands-on activity for visitors to try. Display: *make a colorful display board using a cardboard box or buy one. * Use big letters to announce your topic and then organize papers in easy to read fashion. * What to display? Maps, graphs, results of experiments, pictures or artwork, rules of the sport, a timeline, etc. * Bring something interactive to put on your table such as an experiment, tools, artifacts, food samples, models, etc. Report: * Write a paper about your topic (younger children can dictate to parents). * Older students might want to include a bibliograpy, title page and cover. * Exact requirements are up to each family. Activity: * Provide something at your table for the people to actively be involved in the project as they visit your display. * Examples: Put together a puzzle about your topic, play a game, do all or part of an experiment, build something, short test about the topic, sample differences in food, etc. Set up will begin at 6 pm, allowing time for participants to see the other displays. Everyone must be at their table and ready at 7:00. Please register by Feb. 27.
