Ride to Remember
|
|
The opening ceremony
Friday evening as well as the ceremony Saturday at the
Highground:Veterans Memorial Park were very touching and thought
provoking. Even riding into the park in the processional as they rang
the bell, brought tears to some eyes. The weather was beautiful and we
enjoyed camaraderie with Wow sisters from four different chapters. Photo

Wow International Ride-In
|
|
We had over 30
Wisconsin members attend the Ride-In in Boyne Falls, MI! We had a great
time riding the beautiful area roads and visiting with the over 400
members at the Ride-In. One afternoon we were lead on a police escorted
ride to an ice cream social in a near by town, East Jordan for free ice
cream. We also rode a ski lift to the top of the mountain - great view.

the Columbia County Fair for their steak supper Saturday night (which
included home-made pie). The cream puffs were delicious too! |

Madison Motorsports
|
|
This ride was a
“wash” to say the least. The weather was cold and rainy and only one
person (Lynn) was brave enough to show up at Madison Motorsports on her
motorcycle. Three members in cars went to Culvers in Stoughton for
lunch.

Mr Soup
|
|
We had a great turn
out of 19 people riding to Mr. Soup's house for lunch and camaraderie. Thanks Emma
for a great back road trip! What a
wonderful day it turned out to be with
the sun shining; albeit the wind was enough to wear you out. Mr. Soup out did himself again this year with
wonderful soup, snacks, and drinks for all who attended. Mr Soup said,
" My best guess is 200 people made it to the 8th Annual Soup Run. Folks
rode in from Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, New York, Minnesota, Ontario
Canada, Iowa and many parts of Wisconsin."

Winter Fun Day |
|
Thanks to
Jeanne and Peggy for planning this event
for us. Thirteen members met at the
Domes
to enjoy the incredible diversity of plant life. We
were able to view two domes only as the
third dome was still being set up for the spring flower show. After that we went to eat at TGI Fridays Front Row
restaurant at Miller Park. We had 4 guests join us for lunch. The food
and service was really good. The company was great.

Chicago Motorcycle Show
|
|
A bowl of chocolates
were used this year to lure women to our WOW booth. M&M's can work
wonders to strike up a conversation. Entering the show you see
motorcycles in very color begging you to sit on them, smell the leather
and see your reflection in the chrome. It sure is a good way to
get a mid-winter motorcycle 'fix'. Our group included Bert M, Judy M,
Sue K. Kathy M, Stepahnie and Donna S. Photo

Brunch at Upper Krust |
|
Despite below zero
temperatures, twenty-two folks (including 5 guests) met at the Upper
Krust
in Watertown to enjoy excellent food and great company. Thanks to Lynn
and Karlette for all the goodies. Everyone went home with at least one
prize if not more than one. It sure is fun to talk about motorcycling
when there is snow and cold outside! Does it make the winter go
faster?? Not sure.

Country Ride
|
|
Five WOW
members from Illinois joined us for our Country Ride
Saturday, so we had 18 riders. We had fun
riding some curvy hilly back roads
from Middleton to New Glarus. Mt Vernon was the biggest town on our
route going out. While we had lunch at Tofflers restaurant it rained a
bit. With wet
roads, but no further rain, we took a more direct route back to
Middleton going
thru Mt Horeb during their Mustard Festival. Thanks
Sue for planning the ride. Photo1

Ride
to Remember |
|
We had a great ride
getting to Neillsville Friday. The weather and roads were gorgeous. The
Highground opening ceremony was touching as the liberty bell was struck
for each Wisconsin soldier lost in Iraq and Afghanistan after which
participants voiced their thoughts and feelings in the 'talking
circle'.. We rode in the first guided ride Saturday as it began to
rain. It continued to rain Sunday during our ride home - so it truely
was a Ride to Remember.

Ride to King (not Rockton)
|
|
Due to flooded and
washed out roads in Western WI near Rockton, we changed our destination
to King. Twenty-one of us were very happy with the beautiful sunshine
and dry roads on our way to King. The King's Table served good food and
everyone joined in the camaraderie! Photo

caverns. The ride through the Mark Twain National Forest was more than
expected with twisties to die for and scenery not soon forgotten. Pat

Ride to Nelson Cheese Factory
|
|
Chris,
Stephanie,
Lynn K and Karlette rode on beautiful back roads to Nelson, WI. We saw
egrets, herons, comorants, and eagles high in the sky! We enjoyed lunch
with the Women On the Edge chapter. Lunch was really good; they make
fresh sandwiches you can order with the cheese they make there. For
desert there was some fantastic ice
cream! Everyone enjoyed the food and visiting with each other. Lynn K
said it was about 430 miles round trip from Madison. Photo

WOW-WOW week-end
|
|
What a wonderful time we
had at
the WOW-WOW this year with
18 members and 3 possible new members that joined us in a ride lead by
Donna
Amacher and Carol Armstrong through the back roads to Savannah, IL. We
enjoyed lunch and shopping at Poopy’s Pub
& Grill. The ride then went on to visit the
Iron Horse Social Club where there was a bike “museum” of sorts and
even a
place where you could pronounce your wedding vows in the top floor of
the
establishment. Next stop was of course
for ice cream at Culver’s in Galena,
IL. The weather was perfect as was the
company. Thank you to Donna and Carol
for a wonderful scenic ride! Photo
