Jill Nelson

Hi WOW members – my name is Jill Nelson and I live in West Allis, or maybe I should say Stallis, WI (it’s a West Allis thing).  I have lived in this area all my life, and have now just finished raising 4 kids in this area – yeeha, the last one just graduated from High School.  I have enjoyed our family activities throughout the years – sport games/ events, camping, hiking, family game nights to name a few.  But what was interesting throughout all this time, is that every time I heard a motorcycle, I would mention to one of the kids “I want to be on one of those bikes!”  Year after year I had this wish to be riding on a bike.

Finally – a dream of being on a bike comes true in 2002!  I meet a guy, who I really like, and how wonderful – he rides!  And I get to ride on the back of his Harley...I thought I died and went to heaven as I fell in love with the motorcycle feel. After a year, I became antsy with the want to ride myself.  Given he had an extra 1200 Sportster in his garage that he wasn’t using – I thought – hmmmmm, maybe I can use the bike to see if I like the concept of me riding myself?  No problem with him, so I signed up for classes at WCTC and before you knew it – my 2nd dream comes true in 2003…….  I’m riding myself!!!!!

New Year’s Eve day, 2004 – I became the owner of my 2002 1200C Purple Sportster.  It came with 4,600 miles on it, and has now reached 38,900 miles!  I have loved every minute on the bike (well, not when I’m caught in a rain storm or it’s below 40 degrees)!  Over the years and miles I have met so many wonderful people and have had awesome adventures.  Something that seems only riders can relate too – the open road and all that comes with it.

For so many years I was looking for a passion of something that I thought I should have --- I’m blessed to have finally found my passion…..RIDING!!!!

WOW has given me so many opportunities for both new friendships and riding events.  My life has been a bit more hectic the last couple years - but, I’m hoping that I can get on more WOW rides in the near future.
