Hi,
my name is Christine Schreiber. I'm a lifelong resident of
Baraboo Wisconsin.
All of
my adult life I've had a passion to have my own motorcycle,
but was
never able to pursue that dream. Until last summer. I'm 54
years
old and currently riding a 1994 Honda Shadow 600 VLX. This is my
second
bike since getting my license in June 2007.
When I got my
license I
thought that maybe I should start out with something "small and safe"
so I bought my very first motorcycle, a Suzuki GZ250. I thought
that would
be a good bike for me to learn on. Even though this is something
I have
always wanted to do, I found myself a little intimidated by this bike
that (at
the time) seemed big to me. I decided to practice my turns,
stops,
starts, etc. and I had the perfect place to do all that - Walnut Hill Cemetery!
After
all, no one was going to complain about the noise, right?!
Well, by the
end of June, I was already bored with my 250. So, yes you guessed
it, I
upgraded to my 600 and I love it. It's a great bike, but I'm
already
having thoughts about upgrading again.
I had my
first WOW ride last
fall, when we met at the Kwik Trip in Fort Atkinson.
Some of you might remember me as the new girl who tipped her bike over
when
pulling away from the gas pump! I was so embarrassed. It
was not
the first impression I wanted to give. But, I was assured by
those of you
who DID see me, that it happens to everyone at some point and I
shouldn't
feel bad. Anyway, I had a great time that day as we rode to New
Glarus. Everyone I have met with WOW has been so nice. I
knew after
that first ride that I had made a great choice in joining Women on
Wheels®!!
I'm looking forward to another wonderful riding season.
