About Me
I was born in Santa Barbara, California and grew up in the Ojai Valley. I have always loved to write, especially letters to pen pals. At one time, I wrote to over 100 people around the world. In the 1990s, I self-published three pen pal related newsletters. I began writing for children in 2003 after visiting Glacier National Park in northwestern Montana. A little mountain goat inspired me to write a story about him and I quickly fell in love with writing children's stories. My favorite pasttime is photography -- nature and wildlife are my favorite subjects. In 2006, I moved to Bigfork, Montana and I am now less than an hour from Glacier National Park where my first children's story originated.
I'm married to Rick, whom I met in high school in 1981. We have four children -- Nichelle, Nicole, Nathan and Neil. We also have two cats -- Belle and Kitty. If I'm not busy with homeschooling my boys, writing, or taking photographs, I'm probably being entertained by the crazy wildlife that frequents our mountain home.
