We in the Vineyard call ourselves “The Radical Middle”

See the book about the history of the Vineyard called “The Quest for the Radical Middle” by Bill Jackson

We attempt to find the balance between Bible truths that appear to be in tension.

The Kingdom of God is already here - And the Kingdom of God is not here yet.

Being in the world - And not being of the world.

Standing for unity - And standing for truth.

Saved by faith, not works - And faith without works is dead.

Divine sovereignty -And human responsibility.

Organization, wineskin, apostles and elders

- And Organism, wine, prophets & itinerants.

Head, Word, reason - And Heart, Spirit, experience.

Evangelism -And Nurture.

Will of God as a specific calling - And Will of God as general calling.

Being natural - And being supernatural.

Planning - And being led spontaneously.

Doing everything - And doing it decently and in order.

In the “Radical Middle” we attempt to marry

(1) the life of the Spirit with

(2) with solid Bible exegesis

(3) and missionary pragmatism that fits our contemporary culture.
