In 2006 alone we received a total of 78,246 pounds of nutritional food for our veterans and their direct families. Local businesses gave 52% of this total and individuals provided 48%. A total of 1,235 veteran households, representing 2,921 individuals, received 81,076 pounds of food. We also take into consideration their sometimes limited cooking facilities and dietary needs. As well, we provide additional holiday boxes to each qualifying family. FOOD PANTRY Through the kindness and generosity of this community, in 2006 we were able to clothe and furnish 1,300 households, representing 2,800 men, women, and children with clothing, household items, and furniture. |
