,seattle . We cruised the usual mex.marqusis,tonga etc . Boat was great. Returned in 78,had kids bought
bigger boat,obvious reasons. Sold big boat, kids gone, quiting work 8/1/02
and looking for a new boat and cruising again. Our boat(unfinished) was used

I visited and did a quick inspection on this boat in Jan. 2003 and took a few PHOTOs. Fiberglass hull with ballast, bulkheads, custom tanks, and deck beams. Cabin is roughed in. Diesel Engine, mast, 4 bags Schattauer sails. In general, this project hull is suffering from neglect and lack of a proper cover.. There was standing rain water in all compartments. (I opened the plugged bilge compatment drain, but expect it will plug up again due to dirt and trash in the bilge.) The wood mast stored on deck, a 4 cylinder diesel engine is in place but I couldn't tell what make it was.and I understand Mrs. Tillman has the sails and the running and standing rigging. Many expensive extras.

I found an ad for this boat in 48 North but when I called for more information I was told it had been sold to Tom Egin. I'll provide more info. when ever I hear from Tom..

Details: Dale has this Ingrid for sale. He has owned her since 1983, sailed her in the San Francisco Bay area until 1996 when he moved to the San Juans. He had Selchie hauled to Anacortes, WA in 1998. where is has been "On the Hard" ever since. From the conversation/emails I have recently had with Dale, the following major work is needed; Leak and deck rot, under teak, stbd side deck, involving the cabin side structure. The oak deck beams don't seem to be effected. Wooden masts have some moisture/water intrusion and soft areas (may or may not be repairable). Masts are out of the boat.

I will eventually get some pictures or if anyone is in the Anacortes area, I would request that they stop by and take some and I will post them.

Here is a little of what Cary tells me about his cruising:

"I've been sailing Seal in the Pacific since the 1980s. I bought the hull and
decks and then built the interior etc myself."..." Karen and I left on our current
voyage from Seattle in 1997. We headed down to Mexico, French Polynesia,
Samoa, Tuvalu, Kiribati and the Marshall Islands (which we fell in love
with). Since 1999, we have been working in the Marshalls (I fix boats, Karen
produces the local newspaper), but have made two trips down to Fiji (can't
work all the time).
We just took out our old wooden mast (she's a sloop) and have a brand
spanking new aluminum mast, which has given us a pleasing extra knot of
speed upwind and less heel.
Our plan is to head west to see the rest of Micronesia in February of 2004
and then on to Malaysia and Thailand....."

Note: With Casmir's help, we were able to compare Cutter Rig details. Mollyhawk appears to be a rigged with the Blue Water standard rigging plan while my Good Intentions is rigged to the Crealock sail/rigging plan. The pimary difference is the Crealock plan has the mast about 16" farther aft. If I can find the measurements that Casmir provided, I will post them for the benefit of other cutter rig owners.
