ORCA 38
(An Ingrid 38 by Another Name)
Built by Seven Seas
of Port Townsend, Wa
I had my first encounter with the Orca 38 back in '94 when I was searching for a project hull.. I found a unfinished hull in a shed near Kingston Wa. Little or no work had been done on it and the owner was willing to loan me the Orca Manual and a copy of a magazine article about the builder Joe Breskin ..
As it turned out, I passed on that hull and purchased the Blue Water hull #53 which is now "Good Intentions".
I have only come across a few Orca 38s and can only guess that there were only a few built. From what I gather, there was never a deck mold but Joe did build/offer a lot of smaller molded interior components such as tanks and modular head, etc.
At one point, in my work on my Blue Water Ingrid, I considered the possibility of using the Orca tanks. I got direction to Joe Breskin's place, outside of Port Townsend. I didn't find anyone there and didn't see the Orca mold around.. There were a large number of the smaller molds laying around though..
If anyone else can provide information and picture of other ORCA 38s, I will add it to this page.
