...Bits and pieces of the writings of Bernice

I have written off and on all my life but never seriously. I guess the greatest satisfaction was when I wrote two plays in school that were used for all grades assembly programs. In the teens I went thought the "Love Found" and "Love Lost" poems but little else. Actually, I would rather read than work at writing but it was always in the back of my mind.

After I married, we lived on a farm and it kept us so busy I had little spare time but in the late 1940's while rocking my children to sleep poems began to come to mind. I had three published. Life again began to speed up and I did little more.

Four years ago I joined the local Writers Club at the encouragement of a friend and started writing again. Poems just present themselves to me but other writings take a lot of work. I was an excellent grammar student in school. I find that not so true now but I have been published once more.

I have been working on my largest project and hope to share bits of it from time to time. My son was asking me about our family. I finally decided to make a list of important things he should know and suddenly realized I had great many memories to share. That is the way my story started and is far from completion.
