(01-29-07) I got all the bits and pieces out of the bulkhead this weekend. It is in excellent condition with the exception of the floor pans. I have lined up a local body repair shop to cut out the old rotten ones and weld in the replacement pans I got last month. The dash and wiring harness are in the basement where I'll rebuild the harness, add the new switches, gauges, hazard flasher, etc. to the dash and try to straighten out the warped top. I will fashion a circuit breaker/relay panel to fit where the old regulator and fuse block mounted on the engine side of the bulkhead.

(05-26-07) Finally some progress on the bulkhead. I finished stripping the really nasty part of the bulkhead down to bare metal and sprayed with etching primer. Now it will be off to the body shop for the floor pan renewal. The donor body car got moved into the shop and the rear wing repairs will start this weekend.

(06-25-07) It's been weeks since I did anything on the Herald. I had some surgery on my eyelids that I have been putting off for a few years. I am finally back to where the swelling of my eyelids is to the point that I can see pretty well again. Anyway, the bulkhead came back from the bodyshop weeks ago with the new floor pans in place so I finished blasting the rest of the surface rust off, cleaned it up and shot it with metal etch primer.

New Floor Pans!

(9-13-07) Painted the front bulkhead surfaces and top and bottom of the floor pans this weekend.

Floor pans, before and after.

(10-4-07) I started reassembly of the bulkhead components tonight. I got the foot pedals and pedal boxes, master cylinders, bonnet support brackets, starter solenoid and ignition coil clamp installed. The clutch M/C has been rebuilt and the brake M/C is a new piece to accommodate the upgraded front brakes.

(10-17-07) Set the bulkhead back on the chassis and connected up the clutch hydraulic line. Next up will be the brake master cylinder hook up, then the steering.
