(5/17/07) I came across a 1970 Triumph GT6 for sale near by that my wife is a bit more enthused about than she is about my 1961 Triumph Herald. The price was right and it followed us home.

Arriving Home:

There is quite a bit of work to be done on it before it's back on the road and I've still got the Herald to finish, so, the GT6 will get stored in the shed for a while and will hopefully become this winter's project. The car needs major engine work, it's got a transplanted Opel GT transmission, that I'd like to replace, the sills are rotted out, it will need a front outrigger, some rear wing work, new seats and interior bits, but most everything else is there.

Here's some close-ups of the right sill, I'll cut out the outer sill, inner sill and the strengthener panel and replace them all.

I've started a list of the bits that I will need and am gathering some up as I find them. With luck I'll have most of the parts on-hand when the rebuild starts this winter.

After some serious thought and the opportunity to acquire a driving GT6+ with NO rust and otherwise very complete, I decided to abandon this restoration and rely on it as a parts car for the new car.
