The Flathead Valley Tennis Association is a volunteer group of people who love
to play tennis and would like to share it with others in addition to furthering
their own development. We would like to be an important step in people's ability
to enjoy the game of tennis.
FVTA NEWS & EVENTS
- SUMMER NEWS
The Flathead Valley Open was again a great success! Junior entries were up around
30% and Adults were just slightly down. The No-Elimination Doubles tournament
was also well attended and everyone had a really good time. Get ready for the
No-Elimination Single later in August. Info is posted below.
Four of the eight courts were resurfaced last fall at FVCC and the other four will be done as soon as the weather cooperates in the Spring. The color change is very nice and the courts play perfectly. Money for this project came from the Interlocal Agreement that the FVTA is part of. We also spearheaded the effort and are proud to have such a beautiful facility in the Valley. Our sanctioned tournament will be played at FVCC in June. Be sure to check out the entire Montana schedule of events for 2006 on the MTA website. Some changes occurred, especially in league play, but we were able to keep our tournament on the same weekend as last year. The FVTA transition of Officers should be completed by March. We will all get behind the new officers and help make the changeover smooth. It is beneficial for any organization to acquire new people from within--anyone who wishes to become part of the decision making team should let the FVTA know.
Many thanks to all the people volunteering this summer to help with putting up
windscreens and the tournament. The FVTA board worked hard to make this a great
summer for all tennis players in our Valley.
