Flywheel ENGINES
and OLD IRON have intrigued me for years. From the days of helping
my Grandpa put loose hay up in the barn with horse teams and steam engines,
to loading out potatoes in the winter from the underground spud house with
my Dad.
The IHC shown
below was used, on my Dads
farm, to power an elevator to carry 100lb. sacks
of potatoes up from the underground storage.
The Fairbanks
Morse "Z" pictured below is my current restoration project. It was used
to run a water lift pump to fill an overhead water reservoir that was then
gravity fed to the house, cattle, and horses.
As the restoration
project on the "Z" progresses updated pictures will be added.
