COMPETITIVE SOURCING RESOURCES

This is an archive site for research and documents on President Bush’s “competitive sourcing” initiative, performed and developed by the National Federation of Federal Employee’s Forest Service Council (NFFE-FSC).  The focus is on the application of this initiative in the Forest Service.

The truth is the Bush Administration’s “competitive” outsourcing program has nothing to do with saving money.  The program is not driven by the needs of agencies, but rather by politically driven mandates from the Whitehouse Office of Management and Budget.  No books have ever been kept to demonstrate whether the program is saving money or wasting it.  A thoughtful analysis of the record supports the conclusion that this Administration is irrevocably committed to an ideological privatization agenda that, if left unchecked, will continue to waste taxpayers’ dollars while seriously eroding the capacity of federal agencies to fulfill their missions.
